ideal flatmate is UK’s first algorithm-based flatmate matchmaker platform dedicated to helping people find the right flatmates.

ideal flatmate places people and personality at the heart of the flat-sharing experience, not just properties and location. This is done through a short questionnaire about living habits. The answers of which will allow people to find their ideal fellow flatmates in a given area.


To deploy a bespoke analytics set up which will enable ideal flatmate to make data driven decisions with confidence.

Give clear visibility on the performance of each marketing activity and reduce the user registration discrepancies between Tableau and Google Analytics.

Our Approach

We started by auditing their Analytics stack and by testing their website user flows rigorously. We then moved on to creating an advanced Analytics schema covering events for Activation, Acquisition and Retention. One of the main reasons for the user registration discrepancies between Tableau and Google Analytics was due to missing events. The platforms have multiple points of entry and some of them had not been tracked in the past.

On completion of this one off project we carried on working with ideal flatmate as Analytics consultants, working closely with the product and marketing team to ensure new events were correctly deployed and for maintenance purpose. A new fresh Analytics set up and an ad hoc consultancy service overtime has enabled ideal flatmate to be more comfortable with their marketing decisions.
